12/20/2023 0 Comments Adobe audition podcast voice![]() ![]() There is a really cool multiband compressor integrated from iZotope into Adobe Audition CC but I find the native Audition ‘Dynamics Processing’ perfectly fine for compressing voice over sessions. Listen to some examples in the podcast audio. Echo is great for when you end a radio jingle or DJ drop so that the radio station name or host name echoes away into a music track. I have created my own custom echo that works great when you mix vocals with music and imaging sfx. There are many echo presets in Adobe Audition some of which are really decent and others are not designed to be used on vocals. A little wetness on the reverb adds a great sound to audio production although other radio imaging producers may argue that reverb is old fashioned and that you should knock out low and high frequencies on a voice over so that it cuts through anything – just like those fancy men’s razors you see advertised on TV! 2. This is not something I would apply in the waveform view of Adobe Audition rather the multitrack as it involves a number of different effects (including Dynamics Processing, Graphic Equalizer and Studio Reverb). Some voice artists don’t need this process but in many cases sessions come in dry and need a little brightening up. ![]() I push up the high range frequencies to give a little sparkle to the voice. Selecting a region changes the language and/or content on add some of my own custom EQ to voice overs, like my own, and other voice over artists that perform work for Music Radio Creative. There are many more, so give yourself time to explore all of the presets in the Effects tab. Customize the effect by choosing how far away the sound should start, the velocity of the speaker, and the angle of approach. Use presets like Ambulance, Merry-go Round, even Super-Fast Passing Train. Use the Doppler Shifter effect to make someone sound like they’re approaching and then receding from the listener or viewer. Sensitivity determines how much variation from perfect pitch you’ll allow. Shorter Attack settings are good for short notes but may sound robotic on longer ones. Attack describes how quickly Audition adjusts a note. ![]() Find it in the Time and Pitch tab, choose your scale and key, and then adjust Attack and Sensitivity. Use the Automatic Pitch Correction effect to hit the notes you want to hit. Inside the Full Reverb effect, you can make your voice sound small enough to fit inside a chamber pot or large enough to fill a concert hall. Under the Convolution Reverb tab, create the impression that your voice is coming from a judge’s chamber, smoky bar, or under a bridge. There are five different types of reverb effects in Audition, and several presets within each of those. Reverberation describes sound waves bouncing off of different surfaces. Keep it subtle with the Rockabilly delay preset, or achieve instant creepiness with the Spooky echo preset. If you want to make someone sound like they’re standing at the bottom of a well, or shouting across a canyon, play with the Delay and Echo tools. There’s also a specific DeEsser effect in the Amplitude and Compression tab.Īn echo is caused by a sound wave bouncing off a distant surface. ![]() You can adjust the center frequency and bandwidth so that you can accurately target the offending sounds. There are presets for male and female voices, each dampening a set of frequencies where those esses might become distracting. If your ess sounds hiss and p and b sounds pop, you can use the Vocal Enhancer effect. You can also customize your settings by moving the Semi-tone sliders. Find the Pitch Shifter effect, and choose from presets like Angry Gerbil or The Dark Lord. Raise your pitch so you sound like a chipmunk or lower it for a Darth Vader effect. ![]()
